“I have worked for the fishermen at Hastings for nearly 20 years and have seen a thriving, culturally rich, historically important, sustainable fishing community rapidly decline. Hastings' fishing is a cultural way of life, they’re an artisanal fleet but there’s no fish and lots of seals. We have this fleet that’s just been left to decline, no one is taking care of it. My hope for the future is that this beach launched inshore coastal community can survive."
