County Durham Community Research Network

Building a community research network with communities in rural County Durham

Overview

The Rural Design Centre, working in partnership with Durham Community Action and NICRE, has obtained development funding from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), to form a new network that will enable rural communities in County Durham to research the issues that affect the experiences of young people living or working in the area, health and wellbeing outcomes, and the future of service delivery.

The partners are focusing specifically on communities in Teesdale, Weardale and the Derwent Valley.

Next steps

The partners are progressing plans for future implementation over a three-year period from January 2024 that support sustainable and equitable involvement of communities in research that creates impact locally.
