Councillor Sanderson said: “The rural economy is changing and this brings many new opportunities but also challenges. Working closely together, sharing experiences and taking part in NICRE’s Beacon forum is a great way for busy rural businesses to easily make sure their voice is heard and amplified.
“It is vital that they are well represented when policymakers are taking decisions and I encourage businesses to get involved in this new forum and really celebrate our thriving rural communities."
Alongside opportunities to provide evidence to inform policymakers, Rural Business Beacons will also have the chance to showcase their business through NICRE’s innovation portal and communications and marketing activities.
Beacons will be invited to two half-day networking events per year – with the first one planned for early 2024 – and receive a regular NICRE newsletter.
