Overview
This innovation portal module covers a range of different methodologies and examples of individuals and organisations engaging with rural communities.
The case studies included developed from 'Community Visioning' events NICRE organised in Hexham and Wooler in 2022 to bring together community-based organisations, community development practitioners, local and regional policymakers and academics to share best practice and knowledge across Northumberland.
The examples showcase collaborations, policy development, funding and job roles that developed from community engagement, demonstrating a range of ways that organisations and individuals are working to meet the needs of rural communities.
The module also includes a State Of The Art review about policy and practice experiments, providing a framework for research engagement with communities, and further research-based case studies from Living Labs (e.g. Grass Ceiling) and Climathons will be included as they become available.
