Overview
Hutton Roof Village Hall has long provided its rural community with a welcoming space for local residents and visitors to take part in activities and host events. Recognising a need for modernisation, the committee embarked on an ambitious extension project to improve insulation, heating, and accessibility.
With £160,000 in funding - 20% of which was from the Community Spaces Partnership - the hall now has a reconfigured layout, new storage area, and a patio for outdoor events. The project has led to an increase in activities at the hall, including yoga, line dancing, and community gatherings. Energy efficiency has also improved, with new heating and solar panels reducing costs and carbon footprint. Challenges, such as rising costs and a builder going bust, were overcome with support from ACT.
